Happy Independence Day!
It's hard to believe it's July already and the Summer heat is upon us! Early to rise is how most Gardeners and Farmers have done it for centuries and we are taking that sage advice to heart and trying to get out there in the early hours. Our Community Garden is mostly planted, with a few projects still under way. We were gifted over 100 plants from Deja Vu Antique and Nursery, just across the street on Pearson rd and are trying to get all of them into some soil. We are giving away any plants that we can't find room for to our Neighbors and the local School Gardens. It's suffice to say we will have a lot of tomato sauce and salsa to can for the Winter months! One of our local Nonprofits, The Community House, donated money for us to buy soil and other amendments that we were in need of. Lastly, Seat at the Table, another local Nonprofit donated an automatic watering system which has been so helpful to our hard working Members. We feel so Blessed to live in a Community who wants to see our Garden succeed! We are at the Garden every Wednesday from 10-12 and welcome all Community Members to come and say hi and consider joining us in our Gardening Adventures!
